40s are in! Turbo | For those who don't know, i got a hold of some DMS 40mm coilovers last week and have been tweaking with them since, trying to find a good ride height and camber settings to try and prevent wheel rubbing.
They're nice, very nice!
(FWIW, the 50s that Noah uses are that much better, but he's nuts) |
wendover Matt | I really enjoyed working on the bimmer and then seeing it in action... Wish I could have helped more! And Eriks Scirocco is pretty cool, cant wait to do some work on it. Keith let me know when you get the right parts from Vesko to reinstall your suspension. And I must say that the drive home from Wendover was pretty lame thanks to the FUZZ... and what can only be incredible boredome... Idiots! When is the last time you saw criminals driving the speed limit in completely conspicuous cars grouped together! Also Wendover kicked so much ASS this weekend... I have been looking foward to that for a long time!

The Scirocco & Wendover arg2 | As most of you know, I just purchased a 1977 VW Scirocco from a guy in Oakland....I drove it over this weekend...straight to the auto-x in Wendover..=)
Thanks to Alan for letting me use those race tires @ Wendover..... that made it way fun...I had a blast!
Also, thanks to everyone on the ride back to make sure that I actually made it back!! Especially getting that throttle cable back on the gas pedal and the intake manifold!...must always carry zip ties and duct tape!

Matt | Upcoming event at the SLCC anybody want to let me co-drive their cars? Havent had time to work on my brakes yet. Maybe tommorrow. Had fun at the fair park... cant believe the hachi got the same time as me... maybe its time to invest in a set of those fookin falkens... or just drive better. |
Fun @ Fair Park Turbo | I had a very good time at the Fair Park yesterday. I was suprisingly competitive and it was nice to finish 7th of 16 in a pretty competitive SM crowd. I got some footage of Kizerian's Hachi, and some of the Bimmer as well.
I won't be at the Saturday event next weekend, prior plans. |

Hachi Matt | OMG! we just got done installing tokico HTS's and TRD race springs in the back of Bensons Hachi, and it was soooooooo stiff. I couldnt get the back end to compress at all, when you push down the tires just flattened!! When Aaron and I both pushed down we got it to compress but the front end started to rise up! Man this car is gonna be awsome!

Matt | Wow mini sounds like hes havin a hard time, Good news about the E-center though we still get to race there... WWAAAHHOOO! Got a few more solid bushings done for the hachis... But way to many more to go... cant wait to kick some but this Sunday laters all.

Chicago Mini | Hello everyone...
Well I made it. I am still living out of bags in a hotel and I'm looking for a place. Parking here sucks....if you can find it, it cost you a crap load. Gas is $1.85 for 93 octane right now, good thing I don't drive my car. I have been taking the el (train) everywhere. It really makes me enjoy the car when I drive it ;)
The first SCCA SOLO race is APR21, I hope I can make it. I really want to get tires to race on before then, but I'm not sure if I can.

The big news from the MG meet Turbo | Christian announced that Cobb Tuning, arguably one of the top two Subaru aftermarket companies in the US, is moving next door to Modern Garage.
This was a bit overwhelming, but it sounds like it's going to all be done and over with before the end of October.
I, for one, would like to see what my car can do on a genuine AWD dyno. |
STi engine and trans mounts in Turbo | Wow.
Compared to what i had before, these things are incredible. I can feel the whole car has come together and it finally feels like one solid piece of metal. It's a little noisier, but it's more responsive as well.
